A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY: HANNAH HECTOR

The end of the year can be crazy, but it sure is fun! There are lots of good things to look forward to, like summer, camps and vacation. And most of all, school's out! But what I think about is all of the memories I had in the past year. I really enjoyed 5th grade, my teachers, my friends, and I really enjoyed being Principal for a Day with Mrs. Phelps! Everybody who made this year possible sure made it fun too. I would like to say thank you to all of the volunteers who also made all of the fun events happen!

I hope that everybody who attended this school this year enjoyed their teachers and friends too. I will sure miss this school and all of the fun people here! Every teacher in this school is amazing for all of their dedication and hard work. They work so hard for everybody to have a fun and memorable school year, and I hope they realize how terrific they are!

The fun events we had this year wouldn't have been possible without parent volunteers. Circle of Games, Bingo Night, and school Dances wouldn't have been here if it weren't for all their time and effort. Thank you volunteers!

I hope everybody has a great summer and a great school year next year! I sure will miss BCE a lot. Thank you so much to every teacher who made this year possible. Thank you also to Mrs. Phelps who made this year the best BCE year ever! I enjoyed being principal for a day!

BCE STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council held our last meeting for the 2017/2018 school year. We celebrated our 2 big successes, Buddy School (school supplies for Houston schools) and our Custodial & Cafeteria Appreciation Week. We also reflected on how each of us grew as a leader and made a list of what we think we could do better in the future. Lastly, we had a send off for our 5th grade Student Council members & then had a party! It's been a great year! Thank you Ms. Kutchman & Mr. Merritt for being outstanding mentors for these young students.

BCE RETIREES

Please join us in celebrating three AMAZING educators and their retirement on Monday, May 21st at Barton Creek Elementary from 3:30-5:00pm. We will be honoring Linda Fredrickson- Librarian, Mo Greulich- GT Teacher, and John Linnell- P.E. Coach.

All current Blue Jays, former students, parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend this celebration. Please share and invite everyone who as been impacted and touched by these incredible educators!

Wildcat Booster Club

Summer is fast approaching and it is time to start looking at Summer Camp possibilities.

If your child loves to write, please consider signing up for the Eanes Young Writers' Camp 2018. This is a camp where students have opportunities to explore their interests in writing in small groups and learn more about the craft of writing. Students who love to write, who seek feedback on their work, and would like to explore creative outlets for their craft would be great candidates for these workshops.

Our district offers writing camps for elementary, secondary, and college prep.

Attached you will find more information and registration forms for all of our writing camps. Registration is accessed through the Community Education website: eanes.augusoft.net. The deadline is May 25th.
