There are so many things happening!  Please see below:

Pumpkin Patch and Story Walk – Now through Oct. 27th

It's not too late to participate!  Please see the flyer in the Bulletin for more information.

October 23rd – Report Cards Posted by 4PM

You will be able to view your child(ren)’s report card by logging into your Skyward account at 4 p.m.  If you notice blanks, have no fear, we will get it corrected.  We were running into significant challenges with the migration of grades from former teachers to new teachers.

October 29th – Outdoor Learning Space

The work is set to begin our our new outdoor learning space!  Thank you so much for your BCE Booster Club "No Hassle Fundraiser" donations.  This would not be possible without your generosity. I will post progress pictures.

October 29th and 30th – Parent/Teacher Conferences

Students will not have school.  Teachers will be conferencing with parents all day.  Conferences will be held via Zoom and should be scheduled with your teacher.  Please remember, even though these will be on Zoom, this is a PARENT/TEACHER conference and an opportunity to discuss the glows and the grows concerning your child.  As such, this may not be the best opportunity for your child to contribute to the conversation.

Vocabulary Parade – As some of you may know, we have our annual Vocabulary Parade for our K-2 students at the end of October.  Traditionally, we have a huge crowd gather outside of the school to watch our sweet kiddos as they show off their homemade costumes.  Well . . . obviously Covid-19 has rained on our parade.  BUT, that's not going to stop us.  This year, we will hold this VIRTUALLY via the Flipgrid app and we have opened this up to ALL students K-5.  Flipgrid is a wonderful user friendly app that will allow the kids to upload a video/Picture of themselves in their costumes for others to see and enjoy. This is completely optional, but a fun way to try to continue our tradition in this new virtual world!   To post videos in Flipgrid, parents/students will need to use this link from a computer: https://flipgrid.com/bcevocab or type the grid code "bcevocab" in if you're using the app. All pictures need to be posted by Friday, Oct. 30th.  If you have any questions, please ask your child's teacher.  We cannot wait to see what the kiddos come up with!

November 3rd – School Holiday (Election Day)

November 6th (deadline), November 11th (published) – VETERANS DAY VIDEO TRIBUTE

In lieu of our traditional Veterans Day assembly, we will be putting together a video tribute to be shared with the school and community to honor all who have served and who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.  Please see the flyer in the Bulletin for more information.

For the third year in a row, Barton Creek received the No Place for Hate designation for
the 2019-2020 school year. Our new banner is hanging alongside the others in the
cafeteria.

Our No Place for Hate ambassadors have been selected for the 2020-2021 school year.
They are: Grace Assir, Brody Fiur, Vivi Howell, Kareem Johnson, Emily Keller, Kyle
Loboprabhu, Ebrahim Masood and Lindsay Zhang. No Place for Hate aims to promote
respectful schools and communities. This is done through student led education
programs that teach the student body to appreciate differences, be inclusive of all and
reject biases.

This month our class lessons focus on inclusivity and ways we can reach out to others,
whether in person or at home. We talk about no matter whether you are learning at
home or school, we are all part of the same BCE community!
