MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL PHELPS

BCE Families,

We did it!  Today marks the close of the 1st 9 week grading period of the 2020-2021 school year.  What an interesting start it's been!  On Monday, October 19th, we will be welcoming back 65 additional students to campus.  This will be our 4th first day of school.  :)

Please mark your calendars for October 29th and 30th as student holidays.  The teachers will be filling their days with Parent Teacher Conferences.  If you haven't heard from your teacher about this yet, you soon will.  We really value this time to celebrate all your kiddo has accomplished and discuss everything that lies ahead for them.

I want to take a moment to highlight the Eanes Education Foundation.  For 29 years the parents of Eanes ISD have been investing in their children’s futures through this organization. EEF has raised $23 Million to fund more than 474 teachers. This year we have 53 Eanes ISD employees who are with us as a result of funds raised by EEF through generous donors like you.  Here at BCE, we would have FOUR fewer staff members than we have now if not for the help of EEF.  One example of those positions is the beloved Nurse Sansom.  It’s hard to imagine school without a nurse in a normal year, let alone in the middle of a pandemic.  Our other highlighted EEF positions are Carley McNicholas (1st grade Spanish Immersion teacher), Heather Blankenship (Campus Support Counselor), and Karli Burgess (1st grade teacher).  BCE would be a different place without these individuals. Most recently, EEF heard our pleas for help and funded an additional permanent substitute for our campus.  This is such a phenomenal help for those inevitable last minute needs.

I encourage you to take a moment to CLICK HERE to learn more about EEF and to see what your family might be able to contribute as a meaningful donation. BCE students benefit greatly from your contributions to EEF and I humbly ask that you consider donating to this worthy cause.  Every dollar counts and no amount is too small. Please know that I wouldn’t ask of you what I don’t support myself. I made my donation today and it took me less than two minutes. Help keep Eanes ISD the Best Public School District in Texas by donating at any level that is appropriate for your family.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

All my best,

Tiffany Phelps
