Aug 28, 2020 MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL PHELPS ![]()
We did it! Give your children a high five, your teachers a virtual hug, and yourselves a big pat on the back. Together, we completed our first FULL week of remote school. What a herculean effort! I have the unique perspective of seeing the behind the screens (see what I did there?) efforts of our teachers AND knowing first hand how instrumental parents are in facilitating this process. I don't know about y'all, but I am so grateful for Alexa's countless reminder alarms? She's been keeping the Phelps household (kinder and 4th grader) on track...well, at least somewhat. It would be disingenuous for me to say we haven't had some bumps in the road. As with anything new, it's taken a bit for us to settle into a routine, but we're getting there. Change is hard. There is nothing normal about what we are all going through. However, we are in this together. Now, more than ever, is the time for us to unite as one team. #TeamBCE Is this ideal? No way. Can we make this work? Absolutely. No matter what obstacle is thrown our way, we will adapt, pivot, and try again. If anything we sure are building our resiliency skills!
We are so grateful to be on this journey with you. The positivity, grace, and overwhelming support you have shown already this school year motivates us to do our very best for our Blue Jays. Have a wonderful weekend!
~Tiffany Phelps TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD ![]() BCE student Advika Gunturu participated in an illustration competition for J.K. Rowling's latest book, The Ickabog. Congratulations Advika on this amazing accomplishment!
As a contest winner, she was able to choose a school or public library to receive $650 worth of books from Scholastic and she chose the BCE library. We are so proud of you Advika and thank you for this generous gift. Do you have a student celebration that you would like to share with the BCE community? We'd love to hear about it!
